The Empress of the United States of America Congratulates “Team USA”

The Empress would like to commend our United States Olympic competitors for their incredible feats of athleticism, strength, and perseverance during a challenging Summer Olympiad in 2021.  They helped us overcome our own worries and preoccupations at home, and they represented us valiantly abroad.  The United States Team not only received the most medals throughout the games, but prevailed over every other competing nation in gold medals on the final day, even with so much stacked against them.  Less well-known players in the games truly came through for everyone when called upon.

At any other time in history, this remarkable achievement would have captured national attention, and provided a reason to bring out the American flag, strike up the band, and obsess over medal counts.  It was a wonderful victory that deserved proper American-style, enthusiastic celebration.

 The Empress understands that we have had no alternative but to be focused on the ongoing Covid-19 threat, but we should not lose our ability to support our athletic teams.  In past years, our national press would have been leading the cheering section, making this something we could all rally behind together.  Sadly, national news lately seems to foment fear, panic, division, and shame.  Every two years, they should help bring us together, and give us a sense of pride in our dedicated, tremendously talented, and strong athletic competitors.

A major opportunity was lost in this instance.

In the future, if any American athlete, team, or artist is competing on an international stage, even during times of serious conflict, we must support them.  We should remember how to be patriotic because entire generations may be growing up without a feeling of national pride.

The Empress expects a great deal more enthusiasm and support in the future.  We are truly “the greatest” – always have been, always can be – and we need to start shouting this from the rooftops once again.

Americans must reclaim our patriotism and national unity.  We must allow the spectacular feats of strength and determination shown by our Olympic athletes to continue to impress the world.   Americans are still strong, good, and resilient.  We are a beacon of strength.  We should be proud.
